The G-spot is not a medical myth. Modern gynecologists can not only easily locate it but also enhance its sensitivity and volume using hyaluronic acid fillers.
At the VIRTUS Institute, this approach has been further developed and improved, offering our patients exclusive access to a safe G-spot augmentation procedure using lipofilling technology. The patient’s own fat is harvested, purified, and enriched in the SmartCell laboratory to ensure the highest quality. You can learn more about the procedure during a consultation with a gynecologist.
What Is the G-Spot in Women?
The G-spot is considered to be part of the clitoris. Only a small portion of the clitoris—the glans and the clitoral hood — is visible externally, while its crura (legs) extend deep into the body, run downward, and reach almost to the anus.
Where Is the G-Spot Located in Women?
The G-spot is located on the anterior (front) wall of the vagina, approximately 2–3 cm (about 1 inch) from the vaginal opening. It can be felt as a firm, slightly textured area with small folds. During sexual arousal, the G-spot becomes larger due to increased blood flow.
Does the G-Spot Really Exist from a Medical Perspective?
From a medical perspective, the G-spot is not only real but can also be identified through palpation. It is an area of denser tissue that feels somewhat similar to cartilage. However, the belief that the G-spot can only be found when a woman is sexually aroused is a myth.
What Role Does the G-Spot Play in Female Sensitivity?
The G-spot can enhance sensitivity during sexual intercourse. In particular, some patients report that after G-spot augmentation, sexual sensations become more intense and orgasms more vivid. In addition, G-spot augmentation may help reduce stress urinary incontinence in women.
What Is G-Spot Augmentation?
Injectable G-spot augmentation is a procedure designed to increase the volume of the G-spot for enhanced stimulation. The standard approach involves injecting hyaluronic acid.
Cross-linked hyaluronic acid has a denser consistency and increases the volume of the G-spot, while non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid acts as a biorevitalizing agent, improving tissue quality and hydration without significantly increasing volume. However, hyaluronic acid has several potential drawbacks: it may cause allergic reactions, scar formation, sclerosis, or eventually be replaced by connective tissue. If necessary, it can be dissolved by injecting a special enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid.
For this reason, the VIRTUS Institute has developed an alternative method of G-spot augmentation using the patient’s own fat. Since the procedure uses autologous tissue, it does not cause allergic reactions or scarring. According to current clinical practice, it is recommended to first perform PRP therapy or use biorevitalizing agents so the patient can determine whether the procedure meets her expectations. This preliminary treatment helps assess comfort, as some women may experience an increased urge to urinate during sexual intercourse after G-spot augmentation, which may not be desirable for everyone.
When Is G-Spot Augmentation Performed?
G-spot augmentation is performed not only to enhance sensations during sexual intercourse. In aesthetic gynecology, the procedure may also be recommended for the following indications:
- Orgasmic dysfunction.
- Reduced genital response.
- Mild stress urinary incontinence.
- Vaginal response syndrome, characterized by insufficient vaginal tightness during sexual intercourse.
- Urethral hypermobility.
Gynecologists generally recommend trying PRP therapy first to evaluate how the sensations change before deciding on G-spot augmentation.
How to Prepare for G-Spot Augmentation
Before undergoing G-spot augmentation, a woman should have a vaginal microbiological smear to rule out inflammation. If the procedure involves autologous fat transfer (lipofilling), additional blood tests are required. The plastic surgeon who performs the fat harvesting will explain which tests are needed during the consultation.
How Is G-Spot Augmentation Performed?
G-spot augmentation is performed in a gynecologist’s office under local anesthesia. If the patient prefers, both fat harvesting and G-spot augmentation can be performed under general anesthesia in the operating room.
The procedure includes the following steps:
- Topical local anesthesia is applied for approximately 30 minutes.
- The gynecologist identifies the G-spot on the anterior vaginal wall. The patient may experience an urge to urinate or pleasant sensations, confirming the correct location.
- A Cusco vaginal speculum is inserted, and the vagina is treated with an aqueous chlorhexidine solution.
- The Cusco speculum is rotated 90 degrees to visualize the anterior vaginal wall.
- Hyaluronic acid or the patient’s own fat is injected longitudinally, parallel to the vaginal mucosa, just above the G-spot.
The entire procedure, including the time needed for the anesthetic to take effect, takes approximately 15–20 minutes.
Is G-Spot Augmentation Painful?
Since the injection may cause some discomfort, a topical anesthetic cream is applied to the vaginal mucosa before the procedure. If lipofilling is performed, fat harvesting is carried out by a plastic surgeon under either local or general anesthesia. The harvested fat is processed and injected on the same day.
How Long Does Recovery Take After G-Spot Augmentation?
G-spot augmentation is a minimally invasive procedure, so tissue trauma is minimal. After the treatment, patients are advised to:
- Abstain from sexual activity for 1–2 days.
- Avoid baths, swimming pools, saunas, and open bodies of water for 1–2 days.
Sunbathing is generally allowed as early as the day after the procedure. If fat harvesting was performed before augmentation, mild swelling and bruising at the donor site may persist for about one week.
What Results Can Be Expected After G-Spot Augmentation?
The primary result of G-spot augmentation is increased sensitivity during sexual activity. Because enlarging the G-spot may alter the angle of the urethra, urinary leakage may decrease or resolve completely. In fact, stress urinary incontinence can also be treated by injecting a small amount of the patient’s own fat into the tissues adjacent to the urethra.
Are There Any Contraindications to G-Spot Augmentation?
G-spot augmentation is not suitable for everyone. Contraindications include:
- Hemophilia or other blood clotting disorders.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
- Cancer.
- Acute infectious diseases.
- Exacerbation of chronic illnesses.
- Vaginal microbiota imbalance.
- Active herpes infection.
If dermal fillers have previously been injected into the intimate area, at least six months should pass before G-spot augmentation is performed.
Is G-Spot Augmentation Safe?
G-spot augmentation is considered a safe procedure when there is no inflammation, itching, or redness in the intimate area. Moreover, when the patient’s own fat is used, it improves tissue trophism (nutrition). Fat tissue is a natural source of stem cells, making it highly beneficial for the vaginal mucosa by supporting tissue regeneration and healing.
