Preparation for a buttock lift
When preparing for a buttock lift, a woman should come for a consultation with a plastic surgeon and anesthesiologist and pass a preoperative package of tests. The surgeon makes a markup of where and how he will remove excess tissue, and agrees with the patient on the location of the scars and the desired type of anesthesia.
Stages of a buttock lift
A buttock lift can be performed under general or spinal anesthesia, with the patient lying on her stomach. The surgeon removes excess skin as marked and places stitches in the gluteal fold or bikini area, where they will not be visible. Due to the patient’s body position, a buttock lift is not combined with most other plastic surgeries, so if she has other wishes (for example, a thigh lift, a nose job, or a tummy tuck), the order of the surgeries should be discussed with a plastic surgeon.
Rehabilitation after buttock lift
After buttock lift, a woman stays in the clinic for one to two nights, after which she is discharged home. The swelling subsides in 8 to 10 days. For the first month, it is necessary to wear compression underwear and follow all the restrictions that the doctor has announced (for example, on active sports, bathing in a hot tub and visiting a sauna). The date of the control examination will also be set by the plastic surgeon. Usually this is the third, seventh, 14th day after the operation.
