Capabilities of the dermatology department of the VIRTUS clinic
At the dermatology department of the VIRTUS clinic, a person can receive the entire range of services in one place: from an initial appointment with a dermatologist and collection of tests to a full range of treatment for dermatological problems, including inpatient treatment.
The capabilities of the dermatology department allow us to:
- Phototherapy is the treatment of complex dermatological problems, including autoimmune ones, using specially selected light waves of a certain length and spectrum. Previously, patients with severe dermatological problems could be sent for treatment to Cuba, since the local sun has an optimal anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effect. In the phototherapy room at the VIRTUS Institute, the wavelengths are identical to the Cuban sun
- Treatment with an excimer laser – the only device in Ukraine with a wide spectrum of ultraviolet radiation, which allows targeted action only on disease-affected areas, without affecting the healthy skin around
- Laser treatment
- Surgical removal of tumors
- Infusion and drug therapy
Also, thanks to the Fotofinder device in the dermatology department, you can make a «Passport of Human Moles». The camera resolution of this device allows you to display all the moles on the human body in one photo. Using this procedure, which dermatologists recommend once a year, it is possible to identify a tendency in patients’ bodies to develop tumors and promptly identify associated health problems.
In addition, you can make an appointment with a dermatologist at the VIRTUS clinic to solve childhood dermatological diseases. Parents trust our specialists to treat atopic dermatitis, viral warts, fungus, allergic skin reactions and other dermatological problems in children.

Consultation with a dermatologist
During the consultation, the dermatologist collects the patient’s history and complaints, conducts a series of preliminary studies – dermatoscopy, and, if necessary, examination with a Wood’s lamp (diagnostic ultraviolet lamp, which can be used to diagnose fungal infections, lichen and other dermatological problems) and a skin biopsy.
After the appointment, the patient receives a preliminary diagnosis and initial prescriptions, which will help eliminate unpleasant symptoms and will not affect the diagnosis of the dermatological disease.
