Preparation for neck liposuction
Neck liposuction itself is a fairly short operation that can even be performed under local anesthesia. In this case, the patient only needs to pass a preoperative package of tests (clinical and biochemical blood tests, blood group test, clinical urine test, testing for HIV, and hepatitis B and C, etc.). If a simultaneous operation is planned (for example, neck liposuction and a circular facelift), it should be performed under sedation and general anesthesia. Then a consultation with an anesthesiologist is also necessary.
Stages of liposuction of the anterior and lateral surface of the neck
Neck liposuction surgery usually lasts 30-40 minutes, and it is often combined with various types of facelifts (forehead and brow lift, blepharoplasty, temporal lift, middle and lower third face lift, chin lift, etc.). As for other operations (hysteroscopy, mammoplasty, abdominoplasty and others), the compatibility is determined by the plastic surgeon so that the intervention does not last too long.
Liposuction is performed through small punctures of the skin, which are made in those places where they are least noticeable: in front of the ear, on the chin, in the folds of the neck.
Rehabilitation after neck liposuction
Rehabilitation after neck liposuction lasts 1-2 weeks. In order to speed up skin contraction and reduce swelling, several sessions of physiotherapy are prescribed. Also, after the operation, you should wear a compression bandage for some time, tightening all the tissues – this can be an elastic ring around the neck or a special face mask.
